He was among the pioneering leaders who joined Apostle Dr. Joe Kayo in the early 1970s, contributing significantly to the establishment of the church. In 1984, recognizing the potential in Pastor J.B. Masinde, Bishop Tuimising commissioned him to plant a new congregation in Eastlands, leading to the birth of Deliverance Church Umoja. Under his leadership, the church expanded from a modest gathering to a vibrant congregation, with over 9,000 members today. Bishop Tuimising’s apostolic vision facilitated the planting of numerous churches across Kenya and beyond, including in Zambia and Tanzania. His tenure as the General Overseer of DCI, which he held until 2000, was marked by significant growth, with the number of congregations increasing from 594 to over 1,200. His leadership continues to influence the denomination, emphasizing church planting, community outreach, and holistic development. His legacy is a testament to his unwavering commitment to spreading the gospel and nurturing spiritual growth within the church community.

Bishop William Kiplagat Tuimising, born in 1946 in Bomet County, answered God’s call at age 14 and was ordained in 1964. He became a pioneer leader of Deliverance Church International, planting and overseeing 300+ churches, mentoring thousands of leaders, and founding one of Kenya’s earliest Pentecostal movements.

✈️ Peacebuilding & National Influence: He played a critical role in mediating peace during Kenya’s 2007–2008 post-election crisis. He also helped resolve the 1997 teachers’ strike—efforts that earned him national respect as a trusted peacemaker among religious and civic leaders.

In 2018, he received the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) for his national service. In 2020, he was honored as an Honorary Cleric during Mashujaa Day, recognizing his dedication to unity, peace, and spiritual leadership.
